In the 40th minute, Claudio Grasso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ermanno Guerini didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Filippo Tornese went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

After 55 minutes of play, Pegli AFC's Antonello Cinalli made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ermanno Guerini was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alberto Pedrelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermanno Guerini having to interfere. Franco Natale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Grasso in the 67th minute of play. When Angelo De Santis fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vigonza's protests and gave Angelo De Santis a yellow card for diving instead. In the 70th match minute, Vigonza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo De Santis to maneuver through the defense. Ettore Di Giandomenico scored 3-4 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franco Natale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alberto Pedrelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ermanno Guerini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ettore Di Giandomenico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Pegli AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
