The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Francesco Stellato dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cosimo Cannone, 1-0. Aranova's Francesco Stellato got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Francesco Stellato managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aranova's supporters rose to their feet, but Francesco Stellato was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cosimo Cannone breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Ossario getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Enzo Malvezzi hit a great ball. Dario Graziani was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 14th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 20 minutes of play, Ossario's Emilio Tundo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aldo Braccia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Felice Di Nucci's late challenge caught a Ossario's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felice Di Nucci helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ossario booed when Aranova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felice Di Nucci didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anthony Pompilio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Anthony Pompilio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emilio Tundo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Braccia having to interfere. If Bruno Giorgio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bruno Giorgio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Aranova's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Giorgio came free, but Aldo Braccia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 64 minutes, Bruno Giorgio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ossario's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Giorgio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emilio Tundo scored 1-3 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aldo Braccia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With his leg Aldo Braccia managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Ossario's Emilio Tundo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Anthony Pompilio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Cosimo Cannone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ossario's zone, Francesco Stellato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cosimo Cannone came out of the goal and Francesco Stellato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Ossario defense, Francesco Stellato kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cosimo Cannone. The Ossario fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cosimo Cannone should have stopped the shot. Cosimo Cannone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felice Di Nucci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cosimo Cannone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Stellato in the 92nd minute of play. After 97 minutes of play, Aranova's Anthony Pompilio made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cosimo Cannone was left in no man's land by his defense there!
