Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Saiano's Cesare Giampieri started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4thth minute of the game Franco Vieri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Saiano's Bruno Serra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bruno Serra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camillo Pala in the 6th minute of play. If Camillo Pala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Furie Rosse's Franco Vieri pulled a muscle in his back after 11 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The supporters of Furie Rosse booed when Saiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Rondinelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Saiano's Bruno Serra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camillo Pala in the 13th minute of play. A collision led to Saiano getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Anthony Guerini hit a great ball. Camillo Pala struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Bruno Serra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Furie Rosse. In the 21st minute, Claudio Di Berardino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Concetto Moscatelli, 21 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Cesare Giampieri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Cesare Chioda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Serra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camillo Pala, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 31stth minute of the game Camillo Pala who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Saiano's Bruno Serra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Biagio Esposito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 45 minutes into the match, Saiano's goal looked a bit too open when Camillo Pala came free, but Bruno Serra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The wind increased when Camillo Pala made the kick off in the second half. Camillo Pala blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruno Serra having to make a save. Camillo Pala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Serra having to interfere. Furie Rosse's Cesare Chioda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Biagio Esposito in the 62nd minute of play. Biagio Esposito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpected shot in the 73rd minute by Camillo Pala got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Camillo Pala could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Bruno Serra made a huge save. In the 77th minute, Camillo Pala ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruno Serra was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A collision led to Furie Rosse getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Alvaro Marulli hit a great ball. Camillo Pala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Serra having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Saiano's goalkeeper Bruno Serra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enzo Quattrocchi. In the 89th match minute, Saiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filippo Garofalo to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Furie Rosse eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
