If Cristoforo Curti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Demetrio Doris got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anselmo Ali made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Lelli in the 19th minute of play. Eugenio Cesareo might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anselmo Ali. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eugenio Cesareo ran back to his position shaking his head. 23 minutes into the match, Fc Paulinha's goalkeeper Alfredo Palomba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmondo Di Girolamo. When Alessio Pala fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Paulinha's protests and gave Alessio Pala a yellow card for diving instead. Calvin Klein Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmondo Di Girolamo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Palomba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfredo Palomba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristoforo Curti, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Edmondo Di Girolamo managed to get in a good position for a shot.
