With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristoforo Villa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carmine Mauro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniele Di Placido's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Fulvio Gulli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Cristoforo Villa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th match minute, Real Delirio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filippo Giuliani to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniele Di Placido in the 20th minute of play forced Rosário V FC's goalkeeper Carmine Mauro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Concetto Buffone in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristoforo Villa saved Real Delirio from getting behind. After the first half Real Delirio were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alessio Vinciguerra couldn't finish the play. In the 63rd minute, Eraldo Lizzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carmine Mauro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessio Vinciguerra in the 65th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Alberigo Sarnelli took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Carmine Mauro to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Rosário V FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Attilio Di Palma hit a great ball. Alessio Vinciguerra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Carmine Mauro made a huge save. Carmine Mauro came out of the goal and Daniele Di Placido tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
