The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Alpicella AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Arrigo Bozzelli came free, but Fedele Tarulli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Arrigo Bozzelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 11 minutes, Arrigo Bozzelli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sinigo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arrigo Bozzelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arrigo Bozzelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 16 minutes, Fabio Mercuri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alpicella AFC and the Sinigo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute, one of Alpicella AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Alpicella AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Alpicella AFC's zone, Arrigo Bozzelli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fedele Tarulli came out of the goal and Arrigo Bozzelli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felice Cherubini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fedele Tarulli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arrigo Bozzelli's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Domenico Galli was a little too slow when Alex Di Battista got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 1-1. Demetrio Petrella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 minutes, Emilio Carciofo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alpicella AFC and the Sinigo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Achille Alessandrini's late challenge caught a Sinigo AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Achille Alessandrini helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sinigo AFC booed when Alpicella AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Achille Alessandrini didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Arrigo Bozzelli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sinigo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arrigo Bozzelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fedele Tarulli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arrigo Bozzelli's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Sinigo AFC's Felice Cherubini got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Demetrio Petrella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alex Di Battista to make the kick off. Arrigo Bozzelli struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Fedele Tarulli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sinigo AFC. Alpicella AFC's Fedele Tarulli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felice Cherubini in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Alpicella AFC's Emilio Carciofo got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Sinigo AFC's Felice Cherubini got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Domenico Galli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Di Battista in the 72nd minute of play. After having played for 77 minutes, Arrigo Bozzelli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sinigo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arrigo Bozzelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felice Cherubini in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fedele Tarulli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Demetrio Petrella managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alpicella AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Demetrio Petrella was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Domenico Galli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fedele Tarulli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felice Cherubini in the 84th minute of play. Arrigo Bozzelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fedele Tarulli having to interfere. Emilio Carciofo was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 87th match minute, Alpicella AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilio Carciofo to maneuver through the defense. Felice Cherubini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fedele Tarulli having to interfere.
