The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Enzo Di Maria fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vallenoncello's protests and gave Enzo Di Maria a yellow card for diving instead. Alberto Luongo kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Fabrizio Di Iulio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Alvaro Franco made a huge save. 39 minutes into the game, Domenico Iezzi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Alberigo Addario was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 46 minutes into the match, Muggia AFC's Attilio Picciano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvaro Franco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The audience was convinced that Fabrizio Di Iulio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alvaro Franco was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Alfonso Santilli charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfonso Santilli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 53 played minutes Vallenoncello got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Santilli. Alvaro Franco came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Muggia AFC's Attilio Picciano. But to his dismay, Attilio Picciano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Muggia AFC's Alberigo Addario proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Muggia AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 60th minute, Arrigo Bosco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberigo Addario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fedele Puddu in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th minute, Ettore Berardini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Domenico Iezzi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alberigo Addario read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Arrigo Bosco's late challenge caught a Vallenoncello's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arrigo Bosco helped the player get up and apologised. Arrigo Bosco kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Domenico Iezzi scored 2-2 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alberigo Addario, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Domenico Iezzi got free with Alberigo Addario in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arrigo Bosco might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvaro Franco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arrigo Bosco ran back to his position shaking his head. Domenico Iezzi came free with the goalkeeper in the 95th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alberigo Addario could save by the left post. With his leg Alberigo Addario managed to avoid a goal in the 97thth minute, when Vallenoncello's Domenico Iezzi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
