But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriano Carbonaro couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the match, Vertemate Con Minoprio's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Moriggi came free, but Aldo Ferreri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Adriano Carbonaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vertemate Con Minoprio's supporters rose to their feet, but Adriano Carbonaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dennis Pasinati breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 1-0 became the score in the 15th minute when Elia Garofalo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Donato Moriggi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adriano Carbonaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elia Garofalo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ennio Sacchetti blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aldo Ferreri having to make a save. In the 47th minute Ennio Sacchetti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Ferreri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Aldo Ferreri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Moriggi, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Aldo Ferreri didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 59th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. If Adriano Carbonaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elia Garofalo took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dennis Pasinati. Dennis Pasinati dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Corrado Berardi charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Corrado Berardi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 74th match minute, Vertemate Con Minoprio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corrado Berardi to maneuver through the defense. Dennis Pasinati made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elia Garofalo in the 76th minute of play. If Adriano Carbonaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 83 minutes, Claudio Del Monaco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mardimago and the Vertemate Con Minoprio players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Mardimago getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Claudio Del Monaco hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, Vertemate Con Minoprio's Edmondo Di Maio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dennis Pasinati narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vertemate Con Minoprio's Adriano Carbonaro got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elia Garofalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Pasinati having to interfere. Adriano Carbonaro scored 3-1 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dennis Pasinati, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vertemate Con Minoprio were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mardimago for a fine match.
