The audience was convinced that Carter Lauri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dario Borrelli was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Anselmo Palleschis short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Davide Malandra to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Antonio Rossini fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Milano Marittima AFC's protests and gave Antonio Rossini a yellow card for diving instead. Anselmo Palleschi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Davide Malandra made a huge save. In the 27th of the match, Dave De Vecchis tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Davide Malandra got in the way and made a wonderful save. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Concetto Santacroce couldn't finish the play.
