After the first half Scaltenigo FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlo Maiorano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Macherio's zone, Fausto Pascali stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvaro Lucentini came out of the goal and Fausto Pascali tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Macherio's Alvaro Lucentini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Pascali in the 61st minute of play. Scaltenigo FC's Carmine Pietrantoni couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute. The referee ignored Macherio's protests and gave Franco Schiavo a yellow card for diving instead. Alvaro Lucentini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Pascali in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th match minute, Scaltenigo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Comunardo Ansoldi to maneuver through the defense. Scaltenigo FC's Alfredo Sartori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ennio Marra in the 80th minute of play. After having played for 82 minutes, Emanuele Brambilla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scaltenigo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuele Brambilla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Scaltenigo FC fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when Scaltenigo FC's Fausto Pascali looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alfredo Sartori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ennio Marra in the 91st minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Macherio's goalkeeper Alvaro Lucentini had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuele Brambilla. If Comunardo Ansoldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
