The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carter Di Gregorio scored 1-0 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Camillo Paolucci, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amerigo Gaspari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 10 minutes, Emiliano Fabiani made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Borgo Santa Maria AFC's Alfredo Bassani tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Dario De Lellis fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borgo Santa Maria AFC's protests and gave Dario De Lellis a yellow card for diving instead. After 15 played minutes Borgo Santa Maria AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dario De Lellis. After a rather tough play, San Lucia's Corrado Visintin got a free kick in the 16th minute. Amerigo Gaspari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Bassani having to interfere. Camillo Paolucci made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Carter Di Gregorio sent off a good shot on target. Ettore Nicolai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camillo Paolucci having to interfere. Dario De Lellis made in the 32nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by San Lucia's Dino De Santis. Emiliano Fabiani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Alfredo Bassani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amerigo Gaspari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Bassani having to interfere. Alfredo Bassani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emiliano Fabiani, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Ettore Nicolai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Camillo Paolucci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emiliano Fabiani to strike the kick off in the second half. Alfredo Bassani didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 53rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. After 58 minutes of play, Borgo Santa Maria AFC's Cesare Cantagallo made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Camillo Paolucci was left in no man's land by his defense there! Anthony Petito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Camillo Paolucci didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ettore Nicolai went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Amerigo Giordano's late challenge caught a Borgo Santa Maria AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amerigo Giordano helped the player get up and apologised. After 67 played minutes San Lucia got a freekick which was hit by Amerigo Giordano. After a rather tough play, Borgo Santa Maria AFC's Augusto Tieri got a free kick in the 71st minute. Amerigo Gaspari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Augusto Tieri kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Amerigo Gaspari got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 83 in the game by Emiliano Fabiani from a close distance when the talented Alfredo Bassani managed to make a qualified save. Borgo Santa Maria AFC's players were relieved. After having played for 93 minutes, Cesare Cantagallo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borgo Santa Maria AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesare Cantagallo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 95 minutes into the match, San Lucia's goal looked a bit too open when Cesare Cantagallo came free, but Camillo Paolucci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Borgo Santa Maria AFC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
