Comunardo Coletti's late challenge caught a US Calcio Badia Polesine's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Comunardo Coletti helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd minute, Comunardo Coletti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alex Salemme was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Amerigo Travaglini capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Amerigo Travaglini really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After 35 played minutes Los Pumas got a freekick which was hit by Carmine Tucci. If Dave Pennetta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Franco Di Paolo was the one to do the kick off. US Calcio Badia Polesine's Beppe Della Rocca got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, US Calcio Badia Polesine's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Iannucci came free, but Alex Salemme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ennio Rotili had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Los Pumas's Amerigo Travaglini in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
