Garniga Nuova AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Garniga Nuova AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Evangelista came free, but Armando Marinacci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Cristoforo Proietto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garniga Nuova AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Civitavecchia the free kick. In the 17th minute, Ciro Evangelista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beppe Panino during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabrizio Giacomini got free with Achille Cimino in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 48 minutes into the match, Garniga Nuova AFC's Dave Zulli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Achille Cimino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dave Zulli made a kick off. With a little luck, Garniga Nuova AFC's Armando Marinacci got control of the ball when Ciro Evangelista tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ercole Giolo came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Civitavecchia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ercole Giolo couldn't finish the play. Garniga Nuova AFC's Armando Marinacci proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Garniga Nuova AFC from getting a goal against them. Antonello Cerrone kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Ciro Evangelista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Marinacci having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Civitavecchia's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Zulli came free, but Achille Cimino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ciro Evangelista's late challenge caught a Garniga Nuova AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Achille Cimino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrizio Giacomini in the 76th minute of play. Fabrizio Giacomini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dave Zulli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achille Cimino having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Civitavecchia's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Zulli came free, but Achille Cimino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ciro Evangelista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Cristoforo Proietto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dave Zulli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute, Garniga Nuova AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ciro Evangelista fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Fabrizio Giacomini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Civitavecchia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
