Alberigo Moretta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrico Romano in the 11th minute of the match. Biagio Azzolina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Biagio Azzolina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute, Beppe De Bonis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the game, Ferruccio Coviello recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Enrico Montini. Ferruccio Coviello showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Dario Russo charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dario Russo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dario Russo kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Ferruccio Coviello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrico Montini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ferruccio Coviello in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrico Montini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 38 in the game by Biagio Azzolina from a close distance when the talented Enrico Montini managed to make a qualified save. Assago FC's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrico Romano in the 46th minute of play forced Catanzaro's goalkeeper Alberigo Moretta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enrico Romano took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alberigo Moretta. Alberigo Moretta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Enrico Romano made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Carlo Pizziolo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Franco Travaglini's late challenge caught a Catanzaro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Franco Travaglini helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Catanzaro getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Biagio Pozzoli hit a great ball. Catanzaro's Alberigo Moretta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Catanzaro from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferruccio Coviello in the 83rd minute of play forced Assago FC's goalkeeper Enrico Montini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armin Lauria hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Catanzaro's Alberigo Moretta got control of the ball when Dario Russo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Biagio Azzolina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrico Montini having to interfere. If Ferruccio Coviello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Assago FC's Demetrio Santini got a free kick in the 98th minute.
