After 5 played minutes FC Lions got a freekick which was hit by Amerigo Montagna. In the 10th minute Augusto Giancola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Comunardo Baresi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antonio Di Pietro struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Comunardo Baresi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bagnile. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florian Orlandi during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bagnile fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 14th minute. Penalty! In the 19th minute Filippo Nazzaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Foni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xiao Antezana in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frank Foni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Xiao Antezana managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Lions's supporters rose to their feet, but Xiao Antezana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Foni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ferdinando Ciccarelli came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Bagnile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdinando Ciccarelli couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Bagnile booed when FC Lions was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amerigo Montagna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damiano Boldrini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Comunardo Baresi made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Ferdinando Ciccarelli sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute of the match Amerigo Albanesi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frank Foni showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Xiao Antezana scored 0-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frank Foni, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 48 minutes, Bianco Antonioni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Lions's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bianco Antonioni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xiao Antezana to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match, Xiao Antezana got a very nice opportunity to score, but Frank Foni was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Xiao Antezana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Bagnile's goal looked a bit too open when Alberigo Baur came free, but Frank Foni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Giancola in the 62nd minute of play forced FC Lions's goalkeeper Comunardo Baresi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the match, FC Lions's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdinando Ciccarelli came free, but Comunardo Baresi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdinando Ciccarelli in the 72nd minute of play forced FC Lions's goalkeeper Comunardo Baresi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonio Di Pietro took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Comunardo Baresi. Comunardo Baresi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Augusto Giancola hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 77th play minute Filippo Nazzaro came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Frank Foni. 1-4. After a rather tough play, Bagnile's Ferdinando Ciccarelli got a free kick in the 79th minute. Xiao Antezanas short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Frank Foni to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Filippo Nazzaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Foni having to interfere. In the 91st minute, one of Bagnile:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bagnile. Xiao Antezana shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After 97 played minutes, FC Lions's Amerigo Albanesi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Frank Foni came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Lions reached it.
