The audience was convinced that Amedeo Mascia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emilio Tosi was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. A collision led to Marina Di Palidoro FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Augusto Cocca hit a great ball. When Corrado Maiorano came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Marina Di Palidoro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Corrado Maiorano couldn't finish the play. Carter De Vecchis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Emilio Tosi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 20 played minutes Marina Di Palidoro FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Vasco. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Amedeo Mascia managed to get in a good position for a shot. astronzi's supporters rose to their feet, but Amedeo Mascia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emilio Tosi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Comunardo Masi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferruccio Vianello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Fulvio Celli made a huge save. 32 minutes into the game, Armando Orsini was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. astronzi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marina Di Palidoro FC the free kick. The supporters of Marina Di Palidoro FC booed when astronzi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Orsini didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Fulvio Celli managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Marina Di Palidoro FC's Ferruccio Vianello fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Bernardo Tardelli came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the astronzi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Tardelli couldn't finish the play. Comunardo Masi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Fulvio Celli made a huge save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amedeo Mascia made a kick off. Emilio Tosi made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Carter De Vecchis sent off a good shot on target. Amedeo Mascia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Tosi having to interfere. Marina Di Palidoro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ferruccio Vianello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marina Di Palidoro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferruccio Vianello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferruccio Vianello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marina Di Palidoro FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
