Claudio Cavallaro might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Costanzo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudio Cavallaro ran back to his position shaking his head. Ernesto Costanzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniele Iacovone in the 27th minute of play. Villalta FC's Daniele Iacovone got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Villalta FC's Alexander Tiberio suffered a concussion after 34 minutes and had to leave the field. 34 minutes into the game, Cristiano Magliocco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manicomio Mombello AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villalta FC the free kick. Cristiano Magliocco kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. A collision led to Manicomio Mombello AFC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Ermanno Abbagnale hit a great ball. Cesare Colasante took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 37th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ernesto Costanzo. Manicomio Mombello AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Eugenio Di Persio kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlo Biagetti to make the kick off.
