With an all-out effort, Piacenza Calcio 1919's Domenico Galante threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eraldo Di Cristofaro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 35th match minute, Piacenza Calcio 1919 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davide Di Campli to maneuver through the defense. Bruno Fulgenzi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arrigo Vierchowod read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play.
