Emilio Di Tommaso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Raniolo, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. If Federico Fabrizio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ernesto Raniolo came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Taccona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Raniolo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Raniolo in the 13th minute of play forced Nuceria's goalkeeper Emilio Di Tommaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carter Contaldi struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Emilio Di Tommaso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taccona. Emilio Di Tommaso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Guidoni in the 31st minute. Concetto Parente's late challenge caught a Nuceria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Concetto Parente helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Taccona fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! Taccona's Alessandro Tana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Federico Fabrizio in the 40th minute of play. After the first half Nuceria were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Federico Fabrizio made a kick off. When Alfonso Mannella fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taccona's protests and gave Alfonso Mannella a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Nuceria booed when Taccona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonso Mannella didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emilio Di Tommaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Raniolo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernesto Raniolo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Di Tommaso having to interfere. If Ernesto Raniolo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anselmo Albani during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Anselmo Albani hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Enrico Ferrini took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 75th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emilio Di Tommaso. Nuceria's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Taccona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Raniolo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ernesto Raniolo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Taccona failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
