A collision led to Valmairone getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Florian Di Gennaro hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ennio Caccia in the 14th minute of play forced Valmairone's goalkeeper Fabiano Scalabrino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the game, Ennio Caccia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Villamontagna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valmairone the free kick. Carlo Silvagni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emilio Briganti's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Fabiano Scalabrino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosimo Simeoni in the 28th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Cosimo Simeoni cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Fabiano Scalabrino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Valmairone's Emilio Guerini got a free kick in the 34th minute. Biagio Arpaia thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Fabiano Scalabrino, a very annoying self made goal in the 38th minute which led to 0-2. Cosimo Simeoni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Carlo Silvagni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Guerini in the 88th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Villamontagna defense, Emilio Briganti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlo Silvagni. The Villamontagna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlo Silvagni should have stopped the shot. Fabiano Scalabrino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ennio Caccia, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Villamontagna walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
