Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dario Felice took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 6th play minute Bianco Garofalo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Carter Menna. 1-0. Bianco Garofalo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carter Menna came out and tried to block the shot, but Bianco Garofalo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 15th minute. In the 18th minute Dave Arioli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ponzano booed when gubbio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Pozzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute of the match Enzo Catucci sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carter Menna skillfully saved the ball. Flavio Vago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dave Arioli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, gubbio's Carter Menna got control of the ball when Bianco Garofalo tried to sneak it across the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edoardo De Cesaris couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edoardo De Cesaris made a kick off. Dave Arioli who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Flavio Vago when he managed to save the team from getting behind. gubbio's Carter Menna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Felice in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to gubbio getting a freekick after 58 minutes play.
