The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th minute Armando Tocchetto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florian Colantoni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florian Colantoni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute Alfonso Galeone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florian Colantoni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Donato Marcon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabrizio Scivittaro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alberto Picciano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. The supporters of Rivarolo booed when Vitinia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Picciano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beppe Penna's late challenge caught a Vitinia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Picciano got free with Fabrizio Scivittaro in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Florian Colantoni came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Rivarolo's Armando Tocchetto. But to his dismay, Armando Tocchetto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alberto Picciano to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes, Rivarolo's Armando Altobelli shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Florian Colantoni came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rivarolo reached it. Alberto Picciano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabrizio Scivittaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Donato Marcon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rivarolo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Tocchetto got free with Florian Colantoni in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rivarolo's Fabrizio Scivittaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Picciano in the 68th minute of play. Florian Colantoni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donato Marcon in the 69th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato Marcon got free with Florian Colantoni in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 79 minutes into the match, Vitinia's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Tocchetto came free, but Florian Colantoni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rivarolo were awarded a corner in the 82th minute after Vitinia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Frank Egidi took the corner. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vitinia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Frank Egidi was slow to take the kick. During this time Rivarolo's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Frank Egidi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Florian Colantoni quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, Vitinia's Florian Colantoni got control of the ball when Donato Marcon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Florian Colantoni was a little too slow when Armando Tocchetto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 1-4. Florian Colantoni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato Marcon in the 97th minute of the match. The Rivarolo players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
