In the 41st minute Antonio Collovati shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bianco Giancristofaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd match minute, juventus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anfilogino Nero to maneuver through the defense. juventus's Bianco Giancristofaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Fabiani in the 45th minute of play.

After 51 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for juventus! The audience was convinced that Alfonso Fabiani's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bianco Giancristofaro was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. After 79 minutes of play juventus's Enzo Castellani was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Enzo Castellani kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the game, Alfonso Fabiani was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cartagenova FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave juventus the free kick.
