Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Alfonso Fabiani got the match started through his kick off. In the 2nd minute, Antonio Collovati hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th minute, Comunardo Zola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mezzanino's Edmondo Di Vincenzo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 5th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Enzo Rosati but with some difficulty. After 7 played minutes Mezzanino got a freekick which was hit by Edmondo Di Vincenzo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Rallo in the 10th minute of play forced Mezzanino's goalkeeper Fabrizio Madaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 12 minutes Mezzanino's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eraldo Piermattei who took care of the corner kick. When Fausto Aversano came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Mezzanino fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Aversano couldn't finish the play. Edoardo Iezzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfonso Fabiani in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabrizio Madaio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dennis Rallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabrizio Madaio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Dennis Rallo took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabrizio Madaio. Fabrizio Madaio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 34th minute, Alfonso Fabiani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabrizio Madaio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 39th minute, Cartagenova FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Edoardo Iezzi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Dino Presutti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Enzo Rosati tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cartagenova FC's zone, Dino Presutti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enzo Rosati came out of the goal and Dino Presutti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After 55 played minutes Cartagenova FC got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Collovati. Edmondo Di Vincenzo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Enzo Rosati. Cartagenova FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Edoardo Iezzi scored 1-2 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enzo Rosati, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dennis Rallo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrizio Madaio having to interfere. Fabrizio Madaio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfonso Fabiani's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Fabrizio Madaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Fabiani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, Cartagenova FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dino Presutti came free, but Enzo Rosati reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dennis Rallo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Fabrizio Madaio made a huge save. In the 80th minute, Cartagenova FC's Alfonso Fabiani ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fabrizio Madaio. Fabrizio Madaio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Fabrizio Madaio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dennis Rallo in the 85th minute. Cartagenova FC's Enzo Rosati played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edoardo Iezzi in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Comunardo Zola was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cartagenova FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mezzanino the free kick. The supporters of Mezzanino booed when Cartagenova FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Comunardo Zola didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute Edoardo Iezzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Rosati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 98th minute, Edoardo Iezzi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Mezzanino supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cartagenova FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Cartagenova FC.
