The supporters of Gavasseto booed when Paolentus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Di Loreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amedeo Alessandro charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amedeo Alessandro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Armando Marcucci acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 19th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Arrigo Crisantemo. The attack was good, but when Alvise Miccio in the 23rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Fausto Ruzzi hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, Paolentus's Demetrio Sanna broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Franco Lazzaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Dino Gianfrancesco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franco Lazzaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Gavasseto's Franco Lazzaro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dino Gianfrancesco. That made the score 0-2 after 57 minutes of play. Dino Gianfrancesco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ferruccio Galdi went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Paolentus's Dino Gianfrancesco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franco Lazzaro in the 65th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Gavasseto's Dino Gianfrancesco threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Franco Lazzaro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ferruccio Galdi struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Dino Gianfrancesco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gavasseto. After a rather tough play, Gavasseto's Amedeo Alessandro got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 81st minute, Fabio Marcolongo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dino Gianfrancesco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ferruccio Galdi in the 87th minute. Fabio Marcolongo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. After 95 played minutes, Gavasseto's Achille Crema shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dino Gianfrancesco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gavasseto reached it. Ernesto Cherubini might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armando Marcucci. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ernesto Cherubini ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match was over Gavasseto could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Paolentus throughout the match.
