The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Concetto Caiola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Lazzaro in the 3rd minute of play. Gavasseto's Ferruccio Galdi got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 12 minutes, Amerigo Melone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tenaglia NoMax Int&Pass's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amerigo Melone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferruccio Galdi in the 15th minute of play forced Tenaglia NoMax Int&Pass's goalkeeper Concetto Caiola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute, Amerigo Melone made a precise shot to the right of Armando Marcucci. Gavasseto's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Ferruccio Galdi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 played minutes Gavasseto got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Marcolongo. Franco Lazzaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amerigo Melone in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armando Marcucci saved Gavasseto from getting behind. Concetto Caiola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferruccio Galdi in the 36th minute of the match. Franco Lazzaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Concetto Caiola having to interfere.

After some careless play in the Tenaglia NoMax Int&Pass defense, Ferruccio Galdi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Concetto Caiola. The Tenaglia NoMax Int&Pass fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Concetto Caiola should have stopped the shot. After having played for 54 minutes, Ferruccio Galdi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gavasseto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferruccio Galdi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fausto Ruzzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Concetto Caiola having to interfere. In the 57th match minute, Tenaglia NoMax Int&Pass was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Caruso to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amerigo Melone in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armando Marcucci saved Gavasseto from getting behind. Armando Marcucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmondo Fanelli in the 62nd minute of play. In the 67th minute Franco Lazzaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Concetto Caiola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Tenaglia NoMax Int&Pass's goalkeeper Concetto Caiola had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferruccio Galdi. Armando Marcucci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amerigo Melone, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Ferruccio Galdi struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Concetto Caiola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gavasseto. When Gavasseto's Franco Lazzaro in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Franco Lazzaro took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Concetto Caiola. Concetto Caiola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. A collision led to Gavasseto getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Achille Crema hit a great ball. The Gavasseto supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gavasseto would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
