The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato Corrente got free with Biagio Bani in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ferruccio Luzi in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sotil Azua prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Biagio Bani made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Donato Corrente sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute, Ennio Santarelli sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Er Nuovo Papato 2340 A.D.'s Biagio Bani didn't even have to move. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Er Nuovo Papato 2340 A.D.'s goalkeeper Biagio Bani, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 22nd minute Donato Corrente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Biagio Bani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anfilogino Facchini hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anfilogino Facchini in the 29th minute of play forced Ruffano's goalkeeper Sotil Azua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ettore Tiburtini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Biagio Bani made a huge save. Ferruccio Luzi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sotil Azua read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Emiliano Bergomi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sotil Azua having to interfere. Sotil Azua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferruccio Luzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 44 minutes, Wasyl Hodyl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ruffano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wasyl Hodyl was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donato Corrente made a kick off. After 57 played minutes Er Nuovo Papato 2340 A.D. got a freekick which was hit by Anfilogino Facchini. 60 minutes into the game, Donato Corrente cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Biagio Bani was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 63 minutes into the match, Er Nuovo Papato 2340 A.D.'s goal looked a bit too open when Wasyl Hodyl came free, but Biagio Bani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alessandro Vespa fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Er Nuovo Papato 2340 A.D.'s protests and gave Alessandro Vespa a yellow card for diving instead. Alessandro Vespa kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Er Nuovo Papato 2340 A.D.'s Biagio Bani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wasyl Hodyl in the 68th minute of play. Ruffano's Sotil Azua proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Ruffano from getting a goal against them. 77 minutes into the match, Donato Corrente had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Biagio Bani. Er Nuovo Papato 2340 A.D.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donato Corrente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 82nd minute, Anfilogino Facchini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 87th minute, Concetto Andreoli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 94 played minutes Er Nuovo Papato 2340 A.D. got a freekick which was hit by Anfilogino Facchini. When the referee ended the match the Ruffano players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
