Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Cesare Miranda fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Baldasseria's protests and gave Cesare Miranda a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes, FC Union Berlinguer's Edmondo De Zorzi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alberto Allegretti came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Union Berlinguer reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Franco Perilli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baldasseria's supporters rose to their feet, but Franco Perilli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lorenzo Minotti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Franco Perilli might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lorenzo Minotti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Franco Perilli ran back to his position shaking his head. Baldasseria's Alberto Allegretti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Baldasseria from getting a goal against them. Alessio Russi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorenzo Minotti having to interfere. If Franco Perilli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alessio Malinconico charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alessio Malinconico the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 57 minutes Baldasseria's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edmondo De Zorzi who took care of the corner kick. In the 64th minute, Franco Perilli left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Baldasseria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Federico Zola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute Dino Melchiorre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Allegretti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Filippo Carlini kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Federico Zola in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alberto Allegretti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 82nd minute Federico Zola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Allegretti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Baldasseria would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
