If Arrigo Caracciolo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 5th minute, Cosimo Zulli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alex Florio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberigo Apicella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Concetto Pascali tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Arrigo Caracciolo fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mariano Comense's protests and gave Arrigo Caracciolo a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 19 minutes, Beppe Mameli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Grongrura's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beppe Mameli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Alex Florio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Cosimo Zulli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 45 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mariano Comense! The Mariano Comense players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. F.C. Grongrura were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alex Florio to strike the kick off in the second half. Concetto Pascali took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beppe Mameli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Concetto Pascali managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when F.C. Grongrura's Alberigo Apicella fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 56 minutes into the match, Beppe Mameli dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Concetto Pascali, 0-2. Alberigo Apicella struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Concetto Pascali didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C. Grongrura. Mariano Comense's Arrigo Caracciolo got his second yellow card of the match in the 59th minute. The referee ordered Arrigo Caracciolo off the ground. In the 60th minute, Arrigo Caracciolo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberigo Apicella blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Concetto Pascali having to make a save. 67 minutes into the match, Mariano Comense's goalkeeper Concetto Pascali had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberigo Apicella. Concetto Pascali showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beppe Mameli, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Andrea Castagna hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes Mariano Comense got a freekick which was hit by Amedeo Gallo. After a defensive mix-up in Mariano Comense's zone, Beppe Mameli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Concetto Pascali came out of the goal and Beppe Mameli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Corrado Cirulli during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Corrado Cirulli kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Concetto Pascali stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Beppe Mameli's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. If Alex Florio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Alberigo Apicella managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Grongrura's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberigo Apicella was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Concetto Pascali breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
