Domenico Cocca charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Domenico Cocca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Barcola getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Domenico Cocca hit a great ball. Edoardo Aquilino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Alfredo Varglien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Travalle's Alfredo Varglien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Alfonsi in the 13th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Barcola's zone, Alfonso Falone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franco Guerini came out of the goal and Alfonso Falone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Travalle's Alfredo Varglien got control of the ball when Edoardo Aquilino tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferruccio Colonna in the 20th minute of play forced Barcola's goalkeeper Franco Guerini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ferruccio Colonna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barcola's Franco Guerini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Federico Pizzi in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Barcola's goal looked a bit too open when Ferruccio Colonna came free, but Franco Guerini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Edoardo Aquilino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfredo Varglien was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 37 minutes into the match, Ferruccio Colonna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Franco Guerini. Barcola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ferruccio Colonna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Federico Pizzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Franco Guerini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barcola's goalkeeper Franco Guerini, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferruccio Colonna to make the kick off. Travalle's Federico Pizzi got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfredo Varglien stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donato Alfonsi's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. The supporters of Barcola booed when Travalle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonso Falone didn't get a good kick on the ball. Travalle's Alfredo Varglien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Alfonsi in the 61st minute of play. The supporters of Travalle booed when Barcola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvise Costantino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferruccio Colonna received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Franco Guerini came out and tried to block the shot, but Ferruccio Colonna slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute, Ferruccio Causio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Federico Pizzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the game, Ferruccio Colonna lined in a short shot 2-3 behind a frustrated Franco Guerini. Ferruccio Colonna struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Franco Guerini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Travalle.
