When Diego Corsi, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 13 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Comunardo Grasso was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Fausto Castrucci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Amedeo Mazzola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Villanova Di Denore's Alexander Cesarini ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amedeo Mazzola. Amedeo Mazzola yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 28 minutes into the match, Villanova Di Denore's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Andreola came free, but Comunardo Grasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Comunardo Grasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Corsi in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Villanova Di Denore's zone, Diego Corsi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Comunardo Grasso came out of the goal and Diego Corsi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 36 in the game by Fausto Castrucci from a close distance when the talented Amedeo Mazzola managed to make a qualified save. a.s.Paglieta's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfonso Andreola in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Comunardo Grasso saved Villanova Di Denore from getting behind. In the 39th minute, Alexander Cesarini fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Amedeo Mazzola, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Villanova Di Denore's zone, Alfonso Andreola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Comunardo Grasso came out of the goal and Alfonso Andreola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Corsi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfonso Andreola got free with Comunardo Grasso in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 58 played minutes Villanova Di Denore got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Cesare. When Fausto Castrucci came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Villanova Di Denore fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Castrucci couldn't finish the play. Diego Corsi struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Comunardo Grasso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for a.s.Paglieta. Alfonso Andreola succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 80th playminute. In the 83rd minute, Fabio Passalacqua ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Comunardo Grasso was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Alfonso Andreola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute, a.s.Paglieta's Diego Corsi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Comunardo Grasso. Comunardo Grasso yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. When Diego Corsi came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the a.s.Paglieta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Corsi couldn't finish the play. The a.s.Paglieta supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing a.s.Paglieta would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
