The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fedele Morini came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Trento AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fedele Morini couldn't finish the play. 36 minutes into the game, Ciro Franceschini was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Torre A Mare AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trento AFC the free kick. A collision led to Torre A Mare AFC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Ciro Franceschini hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eraldo De Felice in the 45th minute of play forced Trento AFC's goalkeeper Anselmo Africano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvise Pasquale hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Armando Eleuteri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fedele Morini in the 48th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eraldo De Felice to make the kick off. With a little luck, Torre A Mare AFC's Armando Eleuteri got control of the ball when Carlo Bosco tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 77th minute Eraldo De Felice suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Arrigo Montaldi's late challenge caught a Torre A Mare AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arrigo Montaldi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th minute, one of Trento AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Trento AFC. 80 minutes into the match, Fortunato Guaita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anselmo Africano. Trento AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fortunato Guaita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edoardo Scarinci during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
