Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Marano Di Napoli's Carter Simonetti started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dario Cerasoli struck a weak shot in the 2nd minute. Fabiano Castronovo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salt. 9 minutes into the match, Marano Di Napoli's goal looked a bit too open when Enzo Prosperi came free, but Fabiano Castronovo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 11 minutes of play, Salt's Dario Cerasoli made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabiano Castronovo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 22nd minute, Enzo Prosperi fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Fabiano Castronovo made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Arrigo Di Cicco sent off a good shot on target. 29 minutes into the match, Salt's goal looked a bit too open when Carter Simonetti came free, but Emilio Giardini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Marano Di Napoli's Fabiano Castronovo got control of the ball when Arrigo Di Cicco tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arrigo Di Cicco got free with Fabiano Castronovo in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 38 minutes into the match, Salt's goal looked a bit too open when Carter Simonetti came free, but Emilio Giardini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 42 played minutes Salt got a freekick which was hit by Davide Melfi. Arrigo Di Ciccos short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Fabiano Castronovo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Carter Simonetti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Enzo Prosperi was the one to do the kick off. Fabiano Castronovo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enzo Prosperi in the 56th minute of play. Fabiano Castronovo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enzo Prosperi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the match, Marano Di Napoli's goal looked a bit too open when Enzo Prosperi came free, but Fabiano Castronovo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carter Simonetti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 69 played minutes Salt got a freekick which was hit by Dario Cerasoli. Carter Simonetti struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. With his leg Emilio Giardini managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when Marano Di Napoli's Carter Simonetti fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Arturo Spiazzi fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salt's protests and gave Arturo Spiazzi a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Salt's Arturo Spiazzi got a free kick in the 79th minute. Fabiano Castronovo came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Salt's Enzo Prosperi. But to his dismay, Enzo Prosperi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. In the 97th minute Antonello Cammarota managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. The Salt support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
