Amos Petito took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eugenio Maccioni. Eugenio Maccioni dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Through an outstanding action, after 12 minutes, Bruno De Rubeis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gambellara FC's Bruno De Rubeis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Gambellara FC from getting a goal against them. Anthony Ali kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Amos Petito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gambellara FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Amos Petito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugenio Maccioni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Amos Petito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugenio Maccioni was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Biagio Cabrini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno De Rubeis having to interfere. Eugenio Maccioni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvaro Proia in the 27th minute of the match. Gabicce Mare AFC's Eugenio Maccioni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Di Luzio in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Alberigo Fioriti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute, Amos Petito ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eugenio Maccioni was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Armin Andreola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Biagio Cabrini to strike the kick off in the second half. Dennis Di Luzio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Maccioni having to interfere. The supporters of Gabicce Mare AFC booed when Gambellara FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Ali didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eugenio Maccioni stood somewhat misplaced when Amos Petito came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 61 minute. Alberigo Fioriti kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gambellara FC's zone, Biagio Cabrini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno De Rubeis came out of the goal and Biagio Cabrini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Gabicce Mare AFC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Dave Conforti hit a great ball. Amos Petito did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Eugenio Maccioni 80 minutes into the match. When Amos Petito came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Gambellara FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amos Petito couldn't finish the play. Amos Petito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gambellara FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
