Lomazzo's Frank Tofani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Pietropaolo in the 3rd minute of play. Eugenio Torri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Diego Villani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Villani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugenio Torri in the 9th minute of the match. Federico Guerrieri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Villani having to interfere. Fabrizio Di Giambattista charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabrizio Di Giambattista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th minute, Federico Guerrieri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diego Villani was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 33rd minute, Bernardo Pietropaolo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Frank Tofani. The goal made the score 1-1. Diego Villani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico Guerrieri in the 36th minute of the match. Diego Villani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenio Torri in the 41st minute of play. The supporters of Lomazzo booed when FC Messina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Pilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. If Bernardo Pietropaolo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. One of Lomazzo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Messina:s goal. The referee gave FC Messina a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Arturo Piccirilli, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lomazzo's Frank Tofani. 2-2. 84 minutes into the match, Lomazzo's Federico Guerrieri sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diego Villani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ettore Pierdomenico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Messina's zone, Federico Guerrieri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Villani came out of the goal and Federico Guerrieri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Federico Guerrieri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lomazzo's supporters rose to their feet, but Federico Guerrieri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Villani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 98 minutes, Amos Del Pizzo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Messina and the Lomazzo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Amos Del Pizzo hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. 101 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Messina's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Diego Di Iorio was slow to take the kick. During this time Lomazzo's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Ettore Pierdomenico heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
