Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Christian Marchegiani took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 7 minutes, Comunardo Cusumano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rovigo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Comunardo Cusumano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Pioltello's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Marchegiani came free, but Aldo Sartori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aldo Sartori came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Rovigo's Comunardo Cusumano. But to his dismay, Comunardo Cusumano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Aldo Sartori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Marchegiani in the 20th minute of play. Cosimo Muzzolon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dave Tedeschi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosimo Muzzolon in the 46th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antonio Franzioni to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Rovigo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabrizio Ramoser to maneuver through the defense. If Christian Marchegiani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Comunardo Cusumano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aldo Sartori having to make a save. Aldo Sartori made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Comunardo Cusumano sent off a good shot on target. If Cosimo Muzzolon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antonio Franzioni hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Rovigo's Enzo Castelli couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 77th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Pioltello. Christian Marchegiani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Aldo Sartori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rovigo were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Pioltello's much stronger midfield.
