Anfilogino Mazza's late challenge caught a Caronno Pertusella's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anfilogino Mazza helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute, Anfilogino Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Caronno Pertusella getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Amedeo Saraceni hit a great ball. Franco Fava made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 26thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Cesare Santini would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Alberto Clemente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto De Angelis in the 31st minute of play. Sasso Marconi's Anfilogino Mazza got his second yellow card of the match in the 33rd minute. The referee ordered Anfilogino Mazza off the ground. A collision led to Sasso Marconi getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Anfilogino Mazza hit a great ball. 41 minutes into the game, Franco Fava was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sasso Marconi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caronno Pertusella the free kick. In the 41st match minute, Sasso Marconi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franco Fava to maneuver through the defense. Ciccio Mammarella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Alberto Clemente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Comunardo Cerasoli stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Ciccio Mammarella managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caronno Pertusella's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciccio Mammarella was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciccio Mammarella got free with Alberto Clemente in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 57 minutes, Fausto De Angelis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caronno Pertusella's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fausto De Angelis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sasso Marconi's Alberto Clemente proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Sasso Marconi from getting a goal against them. Alberto Clemente made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Ciccio Mammarella sent off a good shot on target. When Ciccio Mammarella came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Caronno Pertusella fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciccio Mammarella couldn't finish the play. Ciccio Mammarella blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alberto Clemente having to make a save. Anfilogino Apicella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Cesare Santini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Caronno Pertusella players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
