Fortunato Allemandi kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Damiano Odisio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ettore De Michele having to interfere. Damiano Odisio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 12th play minutes Dario Tarantini shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Ettore De Michele and just under the crossbar into goal. Dario Tarantini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ettore De Michele having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Camillo Savoia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Australian FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sestri Ponente the free kick. A collision led to Australian FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Camillo Savoia hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Anthony Coletti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Australian FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Anthony Coletti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ettore De Michele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Damiano Odisio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ettore De Michele having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Concetto Pacella took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Anfilogino Giocondo to make any attempt to save it. Attilio Ciccarelli kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Dario Tarantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 55 minutes into the match, Sestri Ponente's goalkeeper Ettore De Michele had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armin Cannata. In the 58th minute, Frank Boninsegna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sestri Ponente's goalkeeper Ettore De Michele, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Australian FC's Dario Tarantini in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sestri Ponente's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Australian FC's zone, Concetto Pacella stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anfilogino Giocondo came out of the goal and Concetto Pacella tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Del Duca hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 74 minutes into the match, Australian FC's Dario Tarantini sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ettore De Michele narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Aurelio Antenucci fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sestri Ponente's protests and gave Aurelio Antenucci a yellow card for diving instead. Ettore De Michele made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damiano Odisio in the 76th minute. Damiano Odisio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Ettore De Michele tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Concetto Pacella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ettore De Michele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Sestri Ponente's Fulvio Scarpa got a free kick in the 87th minute. Sestri Ponente's Ettore De Michele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Tarantini in the 89th minute of play. Concetto Pacella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Australian FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
