Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) US Lecce's Biagio Capobianco started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Donato De Grandis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. US Lecce's Attilio Frabetti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bianco De Grandis in the 4th minute of play. Attilio Frabetti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Fata in the 5th minute of play. Anthony Fata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato De Grandis in the 20th minute of play forced US Lecce's goalkeeper Attilio Frabetti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the US Lecce defense, Alfonso Lauri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Attilio Frabetti. The US Lecce fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Attilio Frabetti should have stopped the shot. When Ercole Giardino fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored US Lecce's protests and gave Ercole Giardino a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute of the match Enrico Nasuti shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Attilio Frabetti showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. US Lecce's Attilio Frabetti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato De Grandis in the 28th minute of play. In the 34th minute, Fausto Rosetta fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Emanuele Giacomini, passed just outside the right post. 36 minutes into the match, US Lecce's Biagio Capobianco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emanuele Giacomini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Biagio Capobianco dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Emanuele Giacomini, 1-1. US Lecce's Ercole Giardino got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Comunardo Camerlengo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emanuele Giacomini. Arceto FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Ercole Giardino came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the US Lecce fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ercole Giardino couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anthony Fata stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Biagio Capobianco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Arceto FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Anthony Fata hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Andrea Verdone managed to get in a good position for a shot. US Lecce's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrea Verdone was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuele Giacomini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Biagio Capobianco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuele Giacomini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Biagio Capobianco in the 68th minute of the match. Bianco De Grandis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 70thth minute, Attilio Frabetti skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Emanuele Giacomini didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Biagio Capobianco went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Ercole Giardino was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Andrea Verdone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Emanuele Giacomini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Biagio Capobianco managed to get in a good position for a shot. US Lecce's supporters rose to their feet, but Biagio Capobianco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuele Giacomini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88th minute, Biagio Capobianco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emanuele Giacomini was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. A collision led to Arceto FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Alfonso Lauri hit a great ball. If Andrea Verdone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. US Lecce walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
