In the 25th minute, Ermanno Finocchio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Cantalupo FC's Bernardo Garofoli, in the 30th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Cantalupo FC. A collision led to Valverde FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Carmine Costantino hit a great ball. Ermanno Finocchio kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, Valverde FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alessio Piccinini came free, but Dave Selvi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Emanuele Andreola managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Valverde FC's Dino Gigli fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 45 minutes, Dino Gigli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valverde FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Gigli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alessio Piccinini to make the kick off. After 58 minutes, Anselmo Restaino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cantalupo FC and the Valverde FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cantalupo FC's Emanuele Andreola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Gigli in the 72nd minute of play. Alfredo Signori fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuele Andreola having to interfere. Dino Gigli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
