The Montenovo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabiano Di Nunzio should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Arrigo Tocchetto put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Fabiano Di Nunzio. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corrado De Amicis in the 30th minute of play forced Montenovo FC's goalkeeper Fabiano Di Nunzio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Dino Ronconi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Donato Tarantini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montenovo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Donato Tarantini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cesare Labate breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cesare Labate showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato Tarantini in the 38th minute of the match. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Donato Tarantini to strike the kick off in the second half. Montenovo FC's Donato Tarantini got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ernesto Finocchio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The long shot by Augusto Carnevale in the 60th minute really tested Fabiano Di Nunzio's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 61 minutes into the match, Castello AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Tarantini came free, but Cesare Labate reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donato Tarantini got in the 64th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Cesare Labate handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. With a little luck, Montenovo FC's Fabiano Di Nunzio got control of the ball when Achille Trivelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Donato Tarantini notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Castello AFC's Cesare Labate.
