The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristoforo Liberti kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 5th minute Biagio Suriani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Benedetti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Biagio Suriani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Benedetti having to interfere. Cristoforo Liberti's late challenge caught a Milano Marittima's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristoforo Liberti helped the player get up and apologised. Cristoforo Liberti kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Cosimo Toschi made in the 17th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Flavio Perna. Alex Benedetti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bianco Falone in the 19th minute of play. Bianco Falone scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alex Benedetti, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 24 minutes, Biagio Suriani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Milano Marittima's supporters crossed their fingers, but Biagio Suriani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sborricchio fc were furious when Bruno Troiano was red carded, 27 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee gave Milano Marittima a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Bernardo Barresi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sborricchio fc's Alex Benedetti. 0-2. Alex Benedetti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amedeo Muto in the 33rd minute of the match. Amedeo Muto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Benedetti having to interfere. It was beautiful to see Sborricchio fc's Camillo Barbato in action when he in the 41st minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Camillo Barbato was the one to do the kick off. Amedeo Muto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Alex Benedetti made a huge save. Alex Benedetti stood somewhat misplaced when Amedeo Muto came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 62 minute. With a little luck, Sborricchio fc's Alex Benedetti got control of the ball when Amedeo Muto tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 72nd match minute, Sborricchio fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Falcone to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Sborricchio fc getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Edoardo Tatangelo hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Milano Marittima's zone, Camillo Barbato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amerigo Di Giuseppe came out of the goal and Camillo Barbato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 92 played minutes Sborricchio fc got a freekick which was hit by Edoardo Tatangelo. When the match was over Milano Marittima could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sborricchio fc throughout the match.
