After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Carlo Zaccardi managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Giovanni AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlo Zaccardi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fulvio Ronconi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 14th minute, Carlo Zaccardi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Giovanni AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Carlo Zaccardi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Achille Campoli managed to get in a good position for a shot. A sloppy throw-in by Anfilogino Giorda in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by San Giovanni AFC's Angelo Perazzolo. Fulvio Ronconi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlo Zaccardi, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Amerigo Valente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Marchegiani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Achille Campoli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fulvio Ronconi came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by San Giovanni AFC's Carlo Zaccardi. But to his dismay, Carlo Zaccardi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 44th minute, Dennis Marchegiani reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Amerigo Valente. The goal made the score 1-3. The Cortine players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. San Giovanni AFC were winning 1-3.

Amerigo Valente showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinando Marsili in the 52nd minute of the match. Cortine's Fulvio Ronconi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Achille Campoli in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to Cortine getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Frank Spano hit a great ball. Achille Campoli was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 64th minute. San Giovanni AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Achille Campoli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulvio Ronconi having to interfere. San Giovanni AFC:s Amerigo Valente showed great skill when he stopped Ciro Navarra:s penalty. With 86 minutes on the clock, Biagio Marsili commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 88th minute there was a penalty for Cortine. Ciro Navarra stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Amerigo Valente. 2-4.
