Lecce 1908's 陈晨坤 shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Federico Alleva came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U. S. Lecce 1908 reached it. Eraldo Pagliuca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. U. S. In the 40th minute Ferruccio Moretta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Federico Alleva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabrizio Scevola could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but 秦朗烨 made a huge save. After 46 played minutes U. S. Lecce 1908 got a freekick which was hit by Ciccio Pietropaolo. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

53 minutes into the match, Ferruccio Moretta dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Federico Alleva, 0-1. Ciccio Pietropaolo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Federico Alleva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Ferruccio Moretta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Federico Alleva came out and tried to block the shot, but Ferruccio Moretta slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 63rd minute. In the 68th minute Fabrizio Scevola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 秦朗烨 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as U. S. Lecce 1908's Ferruccio Moretta slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Federico Alleva. That made the score 0-3 after 69 minutes of play. Federico Alleva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Morandin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ferruccio Moretta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Federico Alleva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Federico Alleva managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when U. S. Lecce 1908's Ferruccio Moretta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Brattese's zone, Ferruccio Moretta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Federico Alleva came out of the goal and Ferruccio Moretta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ferruccio Moretta was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 85th minute. U. S. Lecce 1908's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Ferruccio Moretta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U. S. Lecce 1908 were furious when Aldo Tartaglia was red carded, 87 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 90th minute there was a penalty for Brattese. Edoardo Amatori stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving 秦朗烨. 1-3. 98 minutes into the match, Brattese's goalkeeper Federico Alleva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferruccio Moretta. U. S. Lecce 1908's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
