Amos De Bettin's late challenge caught a Santa Caterina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amos De Bettin helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Briavacca FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Amos De Bettin hit a great ball. In the 4th minute, Andrea Dossena sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Briavacca FC's Ennio Santovito didn't even have to move. If Andrea Piretti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Emiliano Franceschi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frank Cattaneo was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Napoleone got free with Frank Cattaneo in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ennio Santovito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrea Piretti in the 16th minute of play. Armando Napoleone in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Frank Cattaneo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After having played for 24 minutes, Cristoforo Giansante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santa Caterina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristoforo Giansante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 28 played minutes Santa Caterina got a freekick which was hit by Ermanno Marconi. Frank Cattaneo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 29th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Bianco Pocobello. Emiliano Franceschi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armando Napoleone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Cattaneo having to interfere. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Santa Caterina! Armando Napoleone who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Frank Cattaneo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Emiliano Franceschi struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Frank Cattaneo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Briavacca FC. A collision led to Santa Caterina getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Angelo Brandini hit a great ball. Armando Napoleone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Cattaneo having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrea Piretti to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Armando Napoleone got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th match minute, Briavacca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Cordone to maneuver through the defense. Emiliano Franceschi charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emiliano Franceschi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 69th match minute, Briavacca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiliano Franceschi to maneuver through the defense. If Emiliano Franceschi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emiliano Franceschi in the 88th minute of play forced Santa Caterina's goalkeeper Frank Cattaneo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 88 minutes, Davide Amatori mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santa Caterina and the Briavacca FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Santa Caterina getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Davide Amatori hit a great ball. Emiliano Franceschi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Frank Cattaneo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ermanno Marconi hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Caterina's zone, Amos De Bettin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frank Cattaneo came out of the goal and Amos De Bettin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee ended the match the Briavacca FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
