Diego Raniolo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andrea Marcelli hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Emiliano De Tommasi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Flavio Miccio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Flavio Miccio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano De Tommasi in the 17th minute of play. Fausto Toto scored 1-0 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aldo Costantino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 23rd minute, Elia Rapone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to A.S.ROMA getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Elia Rapone hit a great ball. Fausto Toto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Aldo Costantino made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Di Piazza in the 41st minute of play forced Fiesole Calcio's goalkeeper Aldo Costantino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andrea Marcelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Fiesole Calcio's Aldo Costantino got control of the ball when Fausto Toto tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alessandro Di Piazza was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredo Salemme during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of A.S.ROMA booed when Fiesole Calcio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Salemme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fausto Toto in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aldo Costantino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fiesole Calcio's Aldo Costantino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessandro Di Piazza in the 93rd minute of play. In the 96th minute, Emiliano De Tommasi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. A.S.ROMA had won after a very even match.
