Cosimo Salemme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabio Lelli in the 4th minute. Achille Colecchia struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Cosimo Salemme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Morsenchio. Pontecchio Marconi AFC's Angelo Filice got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Achille Fantauzzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Filice, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Morsenchio's Achille Colecchia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cosimo Salemme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Francesco Lepre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achille Fantauzzi having to interfere. Fausto Sacchi kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Francesco Lepre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosimo Salemme made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Fabio Lelli sent off a good shot on target. When Alberigo Bomba fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pontecchio Marconi AFC's protests and gave Alberigo Bomba a yellow card for diving instead. With splendid footwork Achille Colecchia arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-0 by the left pole in the game's 32nd minute. Fabio Lelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosimo Salemme having to interfere. Alberto Braccia charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Braccia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pontecchio Marconi AFC! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arrigo Felicetti during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Arrigo Felicetti hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Achille Colecchia to make the kick off. Morsenchio's Fabio Lelli got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Pontecchio Marconi AFC's zone, Fabio Lelli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cosimo Salemme came out of the goal and Fabio Lelli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francesco Lepre was extremely unlucky when he, in the 57th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 61 minutes into the match, Francesco Lepre dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Achille Fantauzzi, 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Francesco Lepre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pontecchio Marconi AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Francesco Lepre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Achille Fantauzzi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Achille Colecchia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Pontecchio Marconi AFC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Arrigo Felicetti hit a great ball. Fabrizio Colle, 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Morsenchio getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Armin Borgatello hit a great ball. When Antonio Bolognesi fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pontecchio Marconi AFC's protests and gave Antonio Bolognesi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th match minute, Pontecchio Marconi AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Bolognesi to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Achille Colecchia sped through Pontecchio Marconi AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cosimo Salemme. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Morsenchio had won after a very even match.
