Frank Lavatrice stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armin Di Liddo's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Aldo Ceci hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 13 minutes, Camillo Cala mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sciranna AFC and the Ospedale Civile Maggiore players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ospedale Civile Maggiore booed when Sciranna AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camillo Cala didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Benedykt Zapolski successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberigo Federici in the 19th minute of play forced Ospedale Civile Maggiore's goalkeeper Benedykt Zapolski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Armin Di Liddo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frank Lavatrice was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After 30 played minutes Sciranna AFC got a freekick which was hit by Camillo Cala. When Alberigo Federici came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Sciranna AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberigo Federici couldn't finish the play. In the 36thth minute of the game Damiano Cavaliere who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sciranna AFC's Frank Lavatrice was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sciranna AFC's Frank Lavatrice played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armin Di Liddo in the 45th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Claudio Feliziani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ospedale Civile Maggiore's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudio Feliziani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Lavatrice breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claudio Feliziani was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Armin Di Liddo took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Frank Lavatrice to make any attempt to save it. Aldo Di Gregorio charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aldo Di Gregorio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sciranna AFC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Aldo Di Gregorio hit a great ball. After having played for 61 minutes, Claudio Feliziani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ospedale Civile Maggiore's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudio Feliziani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alberigo Federici struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Benedykt Zapolski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sciranna AFC. If Claudio Feliziani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Camillo Cala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Sciranna AFC defense, Damiano Cavaliere kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Frank Lavatrice. The Sciranna AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frank Lavatrice should have stopped the shot. In the 89th minute, Alfredo Flocco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberigo Federici in the 91st minute of play forced Ospedale Civile Maggiore's goalkeeper Benedykt Zapolski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armin Di Liddo got free with Frank Lavatrice in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 93rd minute, Ospedale Civile Maggiore's Claudio Feliziani ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Frank Lavatrice. Frank Lavatrice yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. Ospedale Civile Maggiore's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
