The crowd rose to their feet as Rain Utd's Antonello Como slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aldo Cera. That made the score 1-0 after 31 minutes of play. 36 minutes into the match, Los Angeles Khalifa's Ferruccio Nazzari sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dino Bottaro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Antonello Como managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rain Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Antonello Como was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aldo Cera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
