Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Federico Cannata made the kick off which started today's match. Felice Angelici showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Petruzzi in the 5th minute of the match. If Fabiano Melone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The corner led Verdello FC's Edmondo Forlano to fire away a dangerous shot which Felice Angelici despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Napoli's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Petruzzi came free, but Felice Angelici reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Petruzzi in the 14th minute of play forced Napoli's goalkeeper Felice Angelici to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute Flavio Trinca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edoardo Troilo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute of the match Biagio Giacomini sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edoardo Troilo skillfully saved the ball. After 41 minutes, Edmondo Forlano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Verdello FC and the Napoli players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Verdello FC! Ermanno Salvucci recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Fabiano Melone hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Flavio Trinca might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edoardo Troilo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flavio Trinca ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Napoli booed when Verdello FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Bertini didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Federico Cannata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Napoli's supporters rose to their feet, but Federico Cannata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edoardo Troilo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Flavio Trinca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edoardo Troilo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. If Fabiano Melone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Verdello FC's zone, Flavio Trinca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edoardo Troilo came out of the goal and Flavio Trinca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Napoli's Federico Cannata in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Verdello FC's goalie prevented a goal. If Ermanno Marsilio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Federico Cannata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Edoardo Troilo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabiano Melone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felice Angelici having to interfere. Felice Angelici showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Petruzzi in the 96th minute of the match. The Napoli supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Napoli would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
